"Most of us will start a custom bike build with a genre, fashion or style in mind. You might want something that oozes classic style. Or maybe you’re thinking of a creation in a brat style with a touch of tracker thrown in for good luck. Hell, if you’re anything like me you’re probably planning the colour of the brake leads before you’ve even got a bike.  But few of us have the skills or courage to just trust in your love of metal, your passion for bikes and your creativity and simply let the build happen. Which is exactly what we did. Meet our very groovy ‘mate grey’ 1998 Honda CB400 Superfour. Let’s introduce our new build and call it THE ROVER.

When our customer bought his 1998 Honda CB400 Superfour with standard looking he was impressed with our built, so then he contacted us to completely change the look of his bike. He wanted us to build an industrial-looking bike, but with some retro touches at the same time. The first step was to change the original rims with TK Japan Spoke rims 18X3.50 inch and 17X5.00 inch and wrapped with Metzeler Karoo 3 150/70-18 and 170/60-17 for front and rear, and after that it was all up to us. After that we converted the original rear shock to a 360 mm YSS G-Series rear shock. Up front we have mounted a set of 53-42 Upside Down forks to really improve handling. To update the bikes braking performance we then mounted Brembo twin calipers at the front and a single Nissin caliper at the rear. Here comes the bodywork, we made a gastank, front and rear fender with a minimalist style made from 1.2 mm galvanized material. After the bodywork was done, Komet Studio made his move! We choose mate grey from Sikkens and decorated with a silver simply line at the top. Completing the last project, Fatbar handlebar and aftermarket handgrip was selected to provide ‘the enjoyment of riding’. The DRL headlight was attached at the front and custom 4 in 2 exhaust system was selected to drag up the classic theme with a strong sound.

Do you know of a rider who has yet to appreciate the sublime beauty of riding a bike that is the only one of it’s kind in the world? You do? Then save them. Save them now. Do it for all of you. Do it for Studio Motor. But most of all, do it for us. And please welcome THE ROVER."
